Things that are making me happy right now
* Chicken stock on the stove
* My shawl (above). The pattern is "textured shawl recipe" by Orlane. I didn't mean to spend *that* much money of yarn to make something for myself. But right now I'm so VERY glad I did. It's warm. And soft. And total comfort. I've seen this shawl nicknamed 'chicken soup' and I can totally see why.
* I've made dinner 3 nights in a row. And we have all eaten together. This feels like a big achievment.
* Big Bang Theory. It's goofy. It's dumb. I don't care. It actually makes me giggle out loud.
* The space heater that is keeping my toes warm.
* When Alex tells me I look "very handsome!" before I go to work.
* Not feeling guilty when the kids have their 30 minutes of TV time. Because it always leads to some sort of game. Today? Building a playground for our cats out of cardboard boxes with crayon drawings all over them...
* My yellow apron with lemons on it. It makes me want to wear an apron.
* Kids who stay in bed until 7.00am. It won't last but right now, it's awesome.
* Every time Luke says "Mommy! I have a good idea!"
* The new and lovely sheets on our bed.
* Alex helping to fold laundry for a whole 10 minutes. Folding his underpants is his speciality.
* Upcoming things to look forward to (a whole weekend alone? yes please!)
* Knowing I only have a few hours at work tomorrow. I don't mean to sound obnoxious about it...really...I'm not gloating. But knowing I'll have unhurried time to change sheets, make soup, plan dinner and fold laundry tomorrow is making my day.
* Friends. The ones I see every day. The ones I haven't seen in over a year. Everyone who keeps all the little strings of contact alive and make little bright spots in every day. That includes all you sweet people who comment here. My blog tells me only about 10 people read these silly pages every time I post so the fact that sometimes almost ALL of you 10 lovely people comment totally makes me smile. Thank you.
